The Simmons Family: Thanksgiving

We usually go to both mine and Paul's family dinners. We have lunch at his mom and dad's and then head over to my grandma's for dinner. We had a lot of fun this year. The kids enjoyed playing with Sara and Jason's kids at Grandma Diane's. We missed Heidi, Dustin and Braxton, Jessica and Nick and Aunt Pam and Uncle Arne this year at Grandma Esta's, but Dustin, Heidi, Jessica and Nick all joined us for dessert. The kids loved seeing Grandma Esta and Grandpa Joe's Christmas lights after dinner. We had such a wonderful time with all our familiy.

The Core of Me

I just wanted to share a little about me. The real core of my life is Jesus. I became a born again christian at the age of 11. I asked Jesus to come into my life, I knew that no matter how much good I did it could not cover the sins not matter how great or small. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" I knew that I was a sinner. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". This kind of death is not a physical death but it meant that I would be seperated from God forever. Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." The only way for us to go to heaven is by asking Jesus to come into our lives by praying the sinners prayer. Jesus' sacrifice was the payment for our sins. It is there for us to take, but everyone does not just get it, we have to ask for it. Romans 10:13 says it again, "for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Finally Romans 5:1 "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." We can be assured that we will be with God if we accept Jesus into our hearts and know that it is not what we do, but because of His sacrifice we are going to heaven. Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit."

My Kids Make Me Laugh

The other day we were in the car and someone had some gas and when Madilyn smelled it she said "hide nose, hide!"

Mom: Kamrie is going to grandma's to help her clean out the pantry.
Raquelle: What kind of tree is that?

Danielle: After you have had your threeth turn it is my turn.
Mom: Nellie it is third not threeth
Danielle: I like threeth better

Madilyn: I am allergic to turtles.
Grandpa: Oh really?
Madilyn: Yes I am allergic to turtles and big mean dogs.

I had Kamrie and some of her friends in the car at Paul's shop and over heard her telling them that if their parents need a new car, tires or a lift for their trucks, they should come to her dad's shop. Way to go little saleswomen!

The other day my littlest sister and I were laying on the bed watching TV and Madilyn was bouncing from me to Mallorie and saying something. Finally when I realized what she was saying I busted up laughing. She was saying "big butt, little butt". Kids can boost your self esteem so well.
